“We are enjoying a tremendous year of momentum and growth,” said LCLD Executive Director Robert J. Grey, Jr. “My strong belief is that the leaders of the profession—the general counsel and the managing partners who make up LCLD’s membership—are excited about implementing strategic, on-the-ground programs that are getting real results.”
LCLD has launched an innovative set of strategic initiatives.
To address the stubborn and broad issues related to bringing more diversity through the legal pipeline, LCLD has created a “Success in Law School” mentoring program that has attracted more than 1,400 mentors and mentees across the country.
LCLD has seen a tripling in the number of participants in its 1L LCLD Scholars Program (for first-year law students), from its first year to its second year.
To advance the development of diverse talent among practicing attorneys, LCLD is in Year Two of its Fellows Program, with more than 250 high-potential attorneys benefitting from a program of professional development and networking.
The third annual LCLD membership meeting will be held Sept. 13 at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Washington, D.C. LCLD members can register at www.lcldnet.org
