Former radio disc jockey Jay Smith's radio career began in 1985 at 88.1 WBHR; his high school featured a gifted and talented program that offered a Radio Broadcasting class. He was in charge of production and broadcasting the high school games on the weekends.

Jay came to Houston, Texas where he was a hit for several radio station and night club residencies through the late 80’s and early 90’s
June of 1992 to August of 2005 he was the Entertainment Director for The Hop Nightclub in Houston.
