Coaxsher™ Celebrates a Successful Year with Additional Equipment, Staff and Product Enhancements

With 2013 sales outpacing 2012, Washington-based fire gear specialist Coaxsher™ celebrates a successful year by expanding its production team and adding equipment. In addition, Coaxsher™ spent much of the year gathering and evaluating customer feedback and testing prototypes to make important enhancements to its personal protective equipment (PPE).

Using new 3D technology, the Coaxsher™ design lab, lead by co-owner Kevin Cox, redesigned the Coaxsher™ wildland fire shirts. Starting in 2014, the fire shirts will be made from 5.8 ounce Tecasafe instead of 7.0 ounce. Based on customer feedback and a year-and-a-half of field testing, Coaxsher™ redesigned the shirts to be lighter weight, cooler, more comfortable and more durable. The lighter weight shirts will dry more quickly and retain less internal heat, making them ideal for fighting wildland fires.

The Coaxsher™ design lab also updated the CX Wildland Vent Pant, which will now be made from 7.0 ounce Tecasafe. The popular wildland fire pants with Coaxsher’s Xvent system are now available under $200, making them affordable to more wildland firefighters. All Coaxsher™ wildland fire pants have been updated, including adjustments to small but important details like pocket placement, stress points, belt loop placement, sizes and more.

The purchase of new 3D technology helped enhance all Coaxsher™ PPE and allowed the design team to size and fit their products to any human model.  In 2013, Coaxsher™ utilized this technology to outfit many large departments and agencies and to customize their products to meet the specific needs of those organizations.

“We’re grateful to our dedicated, hardworking customers for sharing their candid feedback with us. With their needs in mind, we’ve redesigned our most critical personal protective equipment to help keep wildland firefighters safe and comfortable,” Kyle Cox said. “We’re eager to continue outfitting them in 2014 and to tailor our products to meet our customers’ most critical needs.”
