Evan Guthrie Law Firm Gives Estate Planning And Wills To First Responders In Charleston, SC
Attorney Evan Guthrie of the Evan Guthrie Law Firm in Charleston, South Carolina provided complimentary wills and estate planning to first responders for a Wills Clinic held in Charleston, SC on Saturday June, 22nd 2013. Mr. Guthrie helped plan the estates of several police, firefighters, and EMS personnel in an event put on by the Young Lawyers Division of the South Carolina Bar. The event was held at the Charleston School of Law and had many attorney and law student volunteers to help make the outing a success. First responders are especially vulnerable to the consequences of not having a plan in place due to the inherent dangerous nature of their jobs. The event is a show of appreciation for the service that these public servants provide and a way for the legal community in Charleston to give back through their law skills a most important area of need. There is also a peace of mind that can be provided to family members of the responders from having one less thing to worry about if anything were to ever happen and a potentially messy probate situation can be prevented. A last will and testament is an important document for everyone to have, but it is even more important to those that are on the front lines of public safety and give so much to serve and place their lives in danger.
This was the third year in a row that Attorney Evan Guthrie had taken part in the Charleston Wills Clinic for First Responders. Mr. Guthrie was joined at the event by his law clerk, Tyler McDonald, who helped draft wills for the participants and their spouses. Mr. Guthrie enjoyed his time that he was able to donate to such a worthy cause and being able to use his estate planning skills to give back to the community in such an important way. Attorney Guthrie looks forward to being able to return to be a part of future wills clinic for first responders in many years to come.
