Subaru Releases an Interactive Preview of the 2014 Impreza WRX and WRX STI

As anticipation surrounding the release of the new 2014 Impreza WRX and WRX STI, Subaru has launched an interactive online brochure that provides a unique preview of these stunning high-performance cars. At Subaru of Hilton Head, a premier dealership serving coastal Georgia and the Lowcountry, this digital sneak peek is seen as a great way to whet the appetite of performance enthusiasts who are eagerly waiting for their chance to get behind the wheel of one of these compact sport sedans.

Featuring pictures, videos, and interactive content, the online brochure allows users to explore all that new WRX and WRX STI models have to offer, including a 360-degree walkaround view and an application with which to view the 4-door in each of its six available exterior colors. Users can zoom in, bookmark or print specific pages, or share select pages with friends online. A motorsport timeline is also included, with which users can trace the racing history of this Subaru performance car from its beginning in 1990 with the WRC in Kenya.

The Subaru WRX STI has been around for twenty years now, and the 2014 edition sports the same turbocharged 2.4L as last year, delivering an impressive 305 hp with 290 lb-ft of torque. This car boasts a quarter-mile acceleration rate that matches that of many exotic sports cars and muscle cars.

The Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system, a six-speed manual transmission, Brembo high-performance brakes, and sport-tuned four-wheel independent suspension are all standard equipment. It also features multi-mode Vehicle Dynamic Control and a Driver Controlled Center Differential, providing a level of customizable driver settings that performance fans will appreciate.

The exact release date and pricing of these new Impreza models has yet to be confirmed, but it’s of expected that they’ll be available sometime next year. Area drivers should contact Subaru of Hilton Head for the latest information.

Renovation Plans Announced For Westridge Golf Club in La Habra, California

Mission Viejo, CA  – Golf Club manager Manarino Sports & Entertainment announced today its plans to completely renovate Westridge Golf Club (http://www.westridgegolfclub.com/
westridge/), located at 1400 South La Habra Drive – at the intersection of Beach Boulevard and Imperial Highway – in La Habra, California.

         With its two-level driving range already remodeled, the club’s18-hole, 6,300-yard layout will remain open during the $1 million-plusrenovation now focused on the clubhouse with its restaurant/bar, lake-view terrace, pro shop and two ballrooms. Work on the golf and entertainment club will began this month, and is scheduled for completion by December 2013.

         The newly completed driving range renovation includes new grass, balls, mats, equipment, deck, retaining wall and lighting, as well as a new range office.

Abuse and Cultish Religion Revealed in New Memoir

In “Letting Go,” author C.C. Rayne shares her journey to help others in similar situations

GRANVILLE, Ohio – Encouraged by a friend to share her own story and inspired by Stacey Patton, author of “That Mean Old Yesterday,” C.C. Rayne publishes her own memoir, titled Letting Go (published by AuthorHouse (http://www.authorhouse.com/)).Rayne hopes that by sharing her own experience of abuse, cultish religion and unhealthy relationships, she may be able to help other people who are struggling from similar traumatic experiences.

The subject of the book is a true description of a woman’s journey of abuse and transitions, and follows Rayne, a religious cult, Rayne’s mother, Claudia, and her brother, William. It is about a child’s journey of abuse then years later leaving a cultish religion. She changed her outward appearance but the condemning mannerisms of the cult were still present. Only after a family tragedy did she find the help she needed to address her demons and find the forgiveness and peace she had been searching for.

While many survivors of sexual abuse have revealed their stories, only a few people have spoken openly about the truth in religious cults. Rayne’s story is meant to give voice to victims of controlling cultish religions, empowering readers to boldly address their own issues and find hope and courage to seek help. Rayne believes that secrets can cripple, letting go and finding one’s own voice is freeing.

Real, evocative and empowering, Letting Go is a book about emancipating the self from traumatic pasts. Readers will discover in Rayne’s journey that they themselves are not crazy, nor alone in their suffering. There are those who are willing to walk with them and guide them toward healing, freedom, and a more fruitful and meaningful existence.

Consumers see store brand quality as improving, but wide disparities exist between categories

In a recent survey by Consumer Edge Insight, respondents were asked about their usage and impressions of store brands across 60 different packaged good categories (including food, beverages, personal care, and household product categories) and across more than 20 different retailers.  Respondents were asked to explain how they choose between buying a store brand and buying a manufacturer brand, and their perceptions of store brand quality, in up to five product categories that they purchase regularly.

Across all 60 categories, store brands showed signs of gradually improving quality compared to 2012, when Consumer Edge Insight conducted an identical survey.  In 2013, 22% of store brand buyers chose a store brand because it was “high quality”, compared to 19% of store brand buyers in 2012.  Store brand buyers in 2013 were slightly more likely to say those a store brand because it offered the best taste, 19% vs. 17%.  And store brand buyers in 2013 were less likely to choose a store brand due to its low price, 56% vs. 60% in 2012, although it still remains the most popular reason for buying store brands.

However, perceptions of store brand quality vary widely across the product categories.  The category where consumer perceptions of store brand quality is the highest was non-organic milk, with 41% of category shoppers saying that store brands offer “just as good” quality as manufacturer brands. Plain bottled water was the second-highest scoring category with 38% of category shoppers saying store brand quality was comparable to manufacturer brands.

The category with the weakest perceptions of store brand quality was toothpaste, where just 9% of category shoppers saying that store brands offer just as good quality as manufacturer brands.  Chocolate candy was the second-lowest scoring category with 10% of category shoppers saying store brand quality was comparable to manufacturer brands.

“While store brand quality is gradually improving overall, we still see a wide disparity at a category-level”
said David Decker, President of Consumer Edge Insight. “Retailers and their suppliers have an opportunity to improve the quality of store-brand products, particularly in categories where consumers value quality and are open to store brands.   It’s important to understand which categories offer the best opportunity and what needs to be done to improve quality perceptions.”

Pan American Airways Global has announced today the following recent appointments to their Board of Directors as they continue to poise themselves for an early market entry for many gaining charter markets globally. Effective August 1st, 2013, David Scott of Ft. Lauderdale FL. was selected and appointed as Chairman for Pan American Airways Global Holdings. Additionally, Mr. Scott will be serving as President of Pan Am Charters, a subset brand of Pan American Airways which will be serving both scheduled and ad-hoc charters for Europe and the South American continents as well. Mr. Scott brings with him over 20 years of charter airline experience, and currently serves as a board member for a growing airline advertising venue that caters to many various airline brands globally. Other worthy appointments include Ken Curry of Ft. Collins, CO., who has been appointed as the new incoming President and COO for Grace, a Pan American product new to the part 91/135 marketplace, that will enhance and utilize various mixes of medium to heavy jets that are currently underutilized for the select executive and discriminate travelers in today’s market place. Mr. Curry's appointment takes effect immediately, and brings over 30 years of experience evolving from various segments of Part 91 and 135 operations to the table.
