Miami Culinary Tours is keeping their promise to showcase the best restaurants in Miami by expanding to the up-and-coming neighborhood of Wynwood.
"This tour has been designed to encompass the creativity and variety (in food and art) of Wynwood. In a few hours you'll visit up to seven different locations, making it the most unique and only dining experience in Wynwood. Meet chefs who will explain the their savory dishes, discover hidden shopping for unique artifacts and gallery gems - and even catch a few artists working on their street murals. Our tour guides are all locals and therefore they grew up experiencing the change in art and food reflected in this world-know part of town.

Across the street you'll find the newest addition to Wynwood, SuViche, located at 2751 N Miami Ave, Miami, FL 33127, where a spicy Japanese-Peruvian fusion causa will be served.
Cross back over to the west side of N Miami Ave to Pride & Joy, located at 2800 N Miami Ave, Miami, FL 33127. This stop will serve the most divine deviled eggs topped with tender pulled pork.
The final stop at the Wynwood Food Tour is at the hidden location of Fireman Derek's World Famous Pies kitchen, 2600 N. Miami Ave Miami, FL 33127, where guests will take delight in the perfect ending to a food tour - a creamy, decadent and chilled key lime pie.

Rock & roll fans were treated with a once-in-a-lifetime experience at a charity concert to raise money for music education. Alice Cooper, all of the members of KISS, Rob Zombie, Europe and dozens of other rock legends came together at THE Fundraiser in Las Vegas and performed for thousands of fans at the Orleans Arena.
Organized by Chuck Brennan, founder of the Brennan Rock & Roll Academy, THE Fundraiser included live performances of some of the greatest rock & roll hits of all time by the artists themselves. Backed by tribute band HAIRBALL as the house band, THE Fundraiser included more songs by more headliners than any other rock concert in history. Performers included Alice Cooper, Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley, Eric Singer and Tommy Thayer of KISS, Vince Neil, Rob Zombie, Dee Snider of Twisted Sister, Stephen Pearcy of RATT, Tom Keifer of Cinderella, Jack Blades of Night Ranger, Joey Tempest & John Norum of Europe and Kip Winger of Winger.
Alice Cooper has been a long-time supporter of the academy. He was on-hand in Sioux Falls for its groundbreaking last year and grand opening concert series this Spring. The academy’s “Welcome To My Nightmare” recording studio was dedicated in his honor. Cooper operates his own performing arts charity, Alice Cooper’s Solid Rock, in Phoenix. “You should see these kids when you go out and play in front of them,” he said. “They are in these rooms trying to learn guitar and then they see the real guys right in front of them. You can see the inspiration in their faces.”
Another academy supporter performing at THE Fundraiser was Jack Blades of Night Ranger. Night Ranger wrote a song on the stage of the Brennan Rock & Roll Academy this year that will be included on their upcoming new album. “All those times when we were young and didn’t have a place to go to get our creativity going,” he said. “Chuck (Brennan)-and Alice with Solid Rock -have made places for kids to go to let their creativity just run wild.”
“We raised more than a million dollars for the academy,” said Brennan. “It was an incredible night and I can’t thank the artists enough for their time, talents and commitment to music education for our children.” Brennan, who started his business career in the music industry, founded the academy in 2012 and celebrated its grand opening earlier this year in his hometown of Sioux Falls, South Dakota with a week-long series of concerts that included friends Alice Cooper, members of KISS, Night Ranger, comedians George Lopez and Louie Anderson, Sebastian Bach and Vince Neil along with dozens of other celebrities.
Between the two fundraising efforts, Brennan has raised more than half of the $3.6 million needed to operate the Brennan Rock & Roll Academy in Sioux Falls for the next 20 years. “The academy is a partnership with the Boys & Girls Clubs, which I was a member of when I was a kid,” he said. “I want to give those kids who really love music and want to learn about the industry a chance I never had.” The academy offers free music lessons to Boys & Girls Clubs members, along with opportunities to perform and learn about the music industry.
“THE fundraiser showed just how much the rock & roll industry believes in our youth and wants to help them pursue their musical passions,” said Brennan. “Dozens of rock stars from all over the world came to Las Vegas for one incredible evening and raised more than a million dollars for these kids. It was absolutely incredible.”
In addition to the performances, many stars donated items and experiences that raised more than $350,000 for the academy. Auction items included opportunities to meet artists like Slash and Rob Zombie, private concerts for up to 500 people with Vince Neil, Warrant and RATT and an opportunity to tour Gene Simmons’ home office and KISS museum. “The winner of one will even get to join Twisted Sister on stage at a concert,” said Brennan. In addition to the auction, there was a raffle of six Paul Stanley (of KISS) Washburn guitars that were signed by all members of the band.
Among the evening’s surprises was a performance by Alice Cooper backed up by academy members for his iconic "School’s Out" and nearly all performers in the concert joining the members of KISS onstage to perform “I Wanna Rock N Roll All Night.”
Next up for the music (education) man? The Brennan Rock & Roll Academy is coming to Las Vegas. Brennan is currently working to bring the program to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern Nevada and expects to make an announcement on his plans for it next year. “My vision is to have a Brennan Rock & Roll Academy in every major city in the US within the next 20 years,” said Brennan. “So much has been pulled from public school music programs and so many children can’t afford to pay $100 for a one hour guitar lesson. We are bringing music back into their lives.”
Brennan himself had no means to learn an instrument as a child. “So I am especially happy when the academy gives more than 600 lessons a month, completely free of charge, to Boys and Girls Clubs members,” he said. “This program is changing their lives.”
Brennan is a philanthropist who regularly contributes to organizations throughout the country. He is especially generous in Southern Nevada, where he is a major donor to Opportunity Village and Henderson Little League along with dozens of other non-profits. When he founded the Brennan Rock & Roll Academy, he committed more than $3 million dollars to the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Sioux Empire for its ongoing operations.
About The Brennan Rock & Roll Academy
The Brennan Rock & Roll Academy was founded in Sioux Falls, South Dakota by Chuck Brennan, a philanthropist and business owner. The academy gives the children of the Boys and Girls Club in Sioux Falls the opportunity to grow by offering free music lessons to those that may otherwise not be able to get them. Christmas and New Year’s in New York City is renowned worldwide for its picturesque outdoor celebrations and events. From the lighting of the Christmas tree in Rockefeller Center to the Macy’s Day parade on New Year’s day, the City has become a symbol of American holiday tradition.
The New York City area has so much to offer during the holidays, and with its notoriously congested streets, one of the best treats you can give yourself this year is a respite from the headaches of traffic.
Whether it’s a stretch limousine for a large group or a sedan or SUV for couples and pairs, KLS Chauffeured Services New York will transport you safe and sound to your destination while you relax and converse with your company.
Luxury transportation has often been thought of as an extravagance only the extremely well-to-do can afford, but chauffeured transportation can be a reasonable way to travel especially when considering the quality of commute. Even for longer trips, a limousine can have a huge impact on the enjoyment, and safety, of the night because the professionally trained chauffeur will handle all of the stress of driving while you get to focus on having a good time.
The frenzied atmosphere of Christmas shopping can be seriously toned down by hiring a chauffeur and car to help you hit all of your destinations. You won’t even have to worry about finding a parking space. Chauffeurs will drop you off right in front of the doors and pick you up when you are ready to leave. And they will be sure to help you store any shopping bags and goods you pick up.
With so many fun festivities being offered in the New York area, remember that KLS New York is only a quick phone call, email, or online booking away. Whether it’s for a company holiday party, or a group that is heading to Times Square for New Year’s, KLS New York will help you with all of your transportation needs.
From everyone at KLS Chauffeured Services New York, we wish you a happy holidays, and safe travels!
Just in time for the holidays, Dr. Steve Taubman, author of the #1 bestseller, UnHypnosis has decided to re-release his overwhelmingly successful 6-part home discovery course, Procrastination Annihilation to help make it a banner year for sales and marketing professionals everywhere. And he's decided to do so at an incredible price.
Originally released in 2012, Dr. Steve's breakout self-mastery course quickly shot to the top of the sales charts and revolutionized the way sales people overcome procrastination and get into action. Now, Dr. Steve is releasing an updated version with some incredible bonuses to help even more sales professionals to become peak performers.
“Too many people keep putting off the changes they clearly need to make due to simple inertia,” Dr. Steve laments. “But whether one suffers from habitual lateness on the job, or simply not making that extra sales call that could mean the difference in whether one is able to afford that extra toy for Christmas, all of this can be easily corrected...”
“... I know, because I've personally received hundreds of letters from around the world from those who have attested to how powerful this course is. Quite simply, I designed the course to act like a mental judo instructor, using the power of the subconscious mind to provide the leverage needed to shift the actual center of gravity of one's thinking. And it works!”
According to Dr. Steve, the secret within the program lies in its marriage of cutting edge tools combined with his patented UnHypnosis Method of learning; using self hypnosis, mindfulness meditation and NLP to bring about lasting change.
Much of the philosophy and many of the tools are derived from the work of motivators like Anthony Robbins, Wayne Dyer, Jack Canfield, and Brian Tracy, blended with the spiritual teachings of masters like Ram Dass, Pema Chodron, Swami Muktananda, Eckhart Tolle, and SN Goenka.
Dr. Steve notes that it's hard to underestimate the damage done by procrastination. His extensive research has shown that procrastinators make less money, have a higher divorce rate, do worse in school, and have more illness than non-procrastinators.
If you or someone you love has suffered from procrastination, than this is a must-have holiday gift to get. Dr. Steve's experience in transforming bad habits from the inside out has resulted in:
Lower stress
Increased income
Enhanced influence
More personal time
Greater energy
Better relationships
MORE FUN!!!
And now, to make this re-release even more compelling, Dr. Steve is offering it with some incredible bonuses designed to make life even better. In fact, almost $3000 worth of bonuses come with the new version of Procrastination Annihilation.
Those who have already tried the updated edition have been ecstatic with it's results. Here's what one of Dr. Steve's clients recently had to say:
“...I am happy to report that I am a new man, jacked up and ready to go with my multilevel marketing business. I never realized how many blocks were affecting my performance and I am so happy to report on the important part that you with your personal touch and your wonderful program played in this metamorphosis.” Martin Carasco
Dr. Steve's course recently sold online for $397. Hundreds happily paid that price. Last year, Dr. Steve decided to reduce that and offer his course at a $100 discount.
But now, to help even more people to keep their New Year's resolutions for 2014, Dr. Steve has decided to make it even more affordable...and dropped the price...to just $199.
Those who try the course can do so for a 7 day for free, and receive a 30 day unconditional money back guarantee.
But the special offer is only guaranteed through New Year's Eve. And it may not be available at this low price again.
So...as Dr. Steve notes, considering it's a NO RISK offer, and in light of how much potential it has to truly help one to overcome a highly destructive habit, why put off for tomorrow what you can do today?
Dr. Steve Taubman is the president and founder of Power Track Presentations, a company dedicated to helping business professionals achieve results by harnessing the power of the unconscious mind, and the UnHypnosis Method, a technology for creating rapid leaps in personal and professional growth. In 1996, Steve studied hypnosis with Dr. Scott McFall and began performing hypnosis at colleges and resorts throughout the United States and the Caribbean. He has since appeared at numerous Fortune 500 company conventions, the Direct Selling Women's Alliance annual convention, and has worked alongside celebrities to include Andy Garcia, Jack Canfield, Mark Victor Hansen, and His Holiness The Dalai Lama. He has been featured on MSNBC, Fox News Boston, and in numerous other media.
He is available for personal consultations at 802 862 4905.
As an expansion to the MediPlus portfolio, the new silicone wound dressings will feature four new border comfort foam dressings with a silicone adhesive that minimizes pain and trauma to the wound. Sizes will range from 3x3 inches, 4x4 inches, 6x6 inches, and 7.2 x 7.2 inches (sacral).
According to MediPurpose Wound Care Marketing Manager Valerie C. Johnson, the new portfolio assortment will address a vast majority of wound sizes. “As with our other wound dressing categories, we will continue to expand our silicone dressings to address the changing needs of our customers,” said Johnson.
Reducing Acquisition Costs to Improve Quality of Care
A soft silicone dressing is an advanced wound care dressing coated with soft silicone as an adhesive or contact layer. The intrinsic properties of soft silicone are such that the dressing may be removed without causing trauma to the wound or to the surrounding skin.
Upon their introduction in the 1980s, silicone wound dressings earned acclaim for their ability to improve patient comfort and be less disruptive to the wound healing process, explained Johnson. However, their high cost positioned them as “premium products” that were often too expensive for many wound care budgets—especially for patients being treated in nursing homes and home care, she added.
However, changes in CMS reimbursements based on quality outcomes have shifted perspectives, resulting in greater demand for silicone dressings now considered by many clinicians to be the standard of care for exuding wounds, said Johnson. The new MediPlus silicone addresses growing demand for competitively priced, high-quality silicone dressings.
“We have developed and positioned a silicone dressing that removes the obstacle of price for our customers,” said Johnson. “In today’s difficult healthcare environment, it’s no longer about if providers can increase their budget to acquire top-branded products—it’s about providing products that allow health care providers to treat more patients at reduced cost.”

The Eighth Annual Beaufort International Film Festival is spreading its reach this year, with finalists hailing from six countries and across the United States. The festival takes place Feb. 12 to 16 with all screenings and workshops at the University of South Carolina Beaufort Center for the Arts.
Beaufort Film Society president Ron Tucker said more countries will be represented at the coming festival than ever before. Filmmakers from Germany, the Russian Federation, Australia, China and Canada were selected as finalists.
In November, the festival made the 2013 list of the Top 25 Coolest General Film Festivals in the World, published by MovieMaker Magazine. Tucker said that's another sign the festival is growing in popularity.
About 8,000 people attended last year.
Of the 150 entries submitted for the 2014 festival, 34 films and screenplays were selected in such categories as animation, documentary, short film, student film and features. From those, six actors and five directors were selected as finalists for individual awards. Many of the entries are from repeat finalists or winners.
Of note among the finalists is the clean sweep of the student film category by the University of North Carolina School of the Arts in Winston-Salem, N.C.
This year, the festival will honor the 20th anniversary of the filming of "Forrest Gump," much of which took place in and around Beaufort.
Two-time Oscar Award-winning film editor Arthur Schmidt will receive the Jean Ribaut Award for Excellence in Film Editing during the festival. He won Oscars for his work on "Forrest Gump" and "Who Framed Roger Rabbit?"
The festival will also recognize James Passanante for his more than 30 years behind the scenes scenic designs.
Festival organizers are seeking locals who participated in the movie for special events during the film festival. A "Behind the Magic" documentary about the making of the film will be shown Feb. 14, followed by a screening of the movie.
Residents who participated in the film are asked to contact festival organizers at 843-522-3196 or at www.beaufortfilmfestival.com.

Recent data from the council of mortgage lenders (Nov 13) reveals an increased availability and volume of lending across the United Kingdom.
In particular London, where the number of loans advanced to first-time buyers in reached a six-year high in the third quarter of 2013.
In total, £2.9bn was advanced to first-time buyers in the third quarter, a 42 per cent increase on the £2bn advanced in the same period a year earlier.
Landlords are also benefiting from the increased availability of lower rate interest mortgage products such as those from Natwest and Principal Building Society with rates as low as 2.79% and 2.99% respectively. Lower rates of interest means a higher rate of return.
Even the average loan to value has increased from 75% of the purchase price to almost 80% according to the Council of Mortgage lenders (CML).
Market Sentiment
The forecast number of repossessions of 35,000 has fallen to a projection of 30,000 for the year-end 2013 (CML).
The total number of repossessions in the third quarter fell to its lowest level since early 2008, and the arrears in the buy-to-let market are lower than in the home-owner market.
Employment figures from the Office of National Statistics of Q3 2013 showed the sixth consecutive quarterly rise in employment with the employment rate now standing at 71.8%, up from 71.5% in Q2 2013. Over the same quarter, the unemployment rate fell by 0.2 percentage points to 7.6%.
The employment and repossession figures do not show a robust economic recovery but rather a slight improvement in market sentiment. This may be the appropriate time for buy-to-let investors to start to re-enter the property market.
Help to buy scheme
Financial Assistance provided to homebuyers through government incentives such as the Help to Buy scheme and proving to stimulate the housing market with 18,000 reservation being placed since its inception.
The most recent element called the mortgage guarantee scheme has had a particularly positive impact because it has made it possible for first time buyers to obtain mortgages with as little as 5% deposit.
The Homebuilders Federation recently interviewed a number of homebuilders that had similar comments as Jim Wren, Chief Executive of Strata Homes who said;
“We are pleased to report a significant upturn in sales numbers as a result of increased customer confidence, improved lending arrangements and particularly the introduction of the Government backed Help to Buy Equity Loan Scheme. We are confident of this increased demand continuing and have accelerated our build rates accordingly.”
Supply Shortages
The above factors have increased housing demand, but what about supply?
A report by CLG (21 Nov 2013) show how the Government’s Help to Buy Equity Loan scheme is driving new home building activity. There were 28,580 new homes started by private house builders in England in the July, August and September quarter this year – up 29% on the same period last year. It is the highest number of new homes started in a quarter since Q1 2008.
The London’s current residential construction pipeline equates to an average of just 28,500 new homes a year, suggesting an annual shortfall of 21,500.
Effect on House Prices
Halifax housing economist Martin Ellis says stronger demand, combined with an insufficient increase in housing supply, has pushed up house prices.
The average house prices rose by 7.7% year on year in Nov 2013.
Land registry data confirms that it is even more pronounced; in places like Wimbledon apartments for sale are more than 10% higher than the price paid in the previous year.
‘Rents went up by nine per cent for the most basic housing between over 18 months’ according to London Councils (March 2013).
‘It may be a good time to consider purchasing London Investment Property' says Arran Kerkvliet of One Touch Property.

Featuring an iconic exterior style that is already unmatched by any other vehicle in its segment, the 2014 Volkswagen Beetle GSR (http://www.knightvw.ca/models/2014-volkswagen-beetle-gsr-special-edition/) is bright, bold, and beautiful. Currently for sale at Auto Haus Volkswagen in Winnipeg, the new VW Beetle GSR stands out with iconic GSR badging throughout the interior and exterior, as well as a unique black and yellow colour scheme. It is truly the Beetle that stings.
What sets the 2014 Volkswagen Beetle GSR apart from other Volkswagen models of this generation, including the new Beetle itself, are the wide range of exclusive GSR appointments. 19-inch “Tornado” alloy wheels feature a lower profile in order to increase road grip and coverage. Bi-xenon headlights with daytime-running LED headlamps shine clear no matter what time of day, and they won’t burn out nearly as quickly as regular headlights. At night, bi-xenon headlights actually display better than regular or filament bulbs.
Inspired by racecars, the 2014 Volkswagen Beetle GSR is equipped with an aerodynamic, aggressive rear spoiler that accents the Saturn yellow and black exterior. In keeping with the R-Line specifications, the front and rear bumpers of the new Volkswagen Beetle GSR have been designed with air-intake optimization in mind. This is to keep the powerful yet efficient 2.0L turbocharged TSI engine running cool and smooth. This powertrain is capable of 210 hp and 207 lb-ft of peak torque for on-demand acceleration. When a particularly quick boost of speed is needed, the 2.0L TSI engine kicks the turbocharger into gear without hesitation. Customers will also enjoy the money-saving estimated 9.0L /100 km city and 6.5L /100 km highway rating.
For more information about the 2014 Volkswagen Beetle GSR or to schedule a test drive, those interested can contact the Auto Haus VW sales associates (http://www.knightvw.ca/contact-us/) at (204) 284-7520 or visit their dealership at 660 Pembina Highway in Winnipeg.

Every business needs traffic to their websites, fans, social media buzz and search engine domination. Every business also needs recurring income, affiliates and joint venture partners. The problem is that all of these things take significant work to achieve and maintain.
Most businesses hate doing marketing. There are no guarantees and it takes long hours with no real promise or guarantee of success. The problem with traditional marketing is that it actually is not as effective and does not address the real psychology behind why people will follow and eventually buy your products and services.
When you DO address the correct psychology, the right marketing, guess what?Everything changes! What if everyone in your business niche suddenly started visiting your business, demanded to tell your story to the world and started showering you with gifts, money, called you on the phone and emailed you BEGGING you to allow them the privelige to be part of your business as a paid customer?
What id this was just the beginning? What if you suddenly had thousands of reving fans who want to be your friend, partner with you and even give you money?
This is exactly what happened to me when I applied the principles of " The Power Magazine Marketer's Kit!"
In just months I went from a nobody to one of the most powerful niche magazines on the planet. I had PhD's demanding to contribute to my media, dozens of top names, hundreds of businesses all wanting IN and they were willing to PAY for the opportunity.
I also grew one of the most impressive mailing lists organically, and thousands of paid subscribers sending me money each and every DAY just like clockwork. It's all 100% true and I will show you how anyone can do the exact same thing! If you ever wanted to dominate your niche this is the real answer you have been looking for. Please have a look at the link below for more information on this amazing program:

Legendary songwriter, producer, keyboardist and Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee CHRIS JASPER, an integral member of the legendary "3 + 3 era" ISLEY BROTHERS, will be awarded a GRAMMY LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD this January along with the rest of the Isley Brothers, Ernie Isley, Marvin Isley (posthumously), O'Kelly Isley (posthumously), Ronald Isley, and his brother-in-law Rudolph Isley.
CHRIS JASPER was an integral member of THE ISLEY BROTHERS during the 1970s and 1980s—their gold and platinum years—from the "3 + 3" to "Between the Sheets" albums. It was during this time that CHRIS JASPER, along with younger Isley Brothers, ERNIE ISLEY and MARVIN ISLEY, added the composition and musical component to the older Isley Brothers' vocal trio (Rudolph, O'Kelly & Ronald Isley), making the "3+3 era" ISLEY BROTHERS a self-produced, self-contained R&B/funk band.
CHRIS JASPER was primarily responsible for writing and arranging the majority of the Isley Brothers' music during this time including such beautiful love songs as “For The Love of You”, "Don't Say Goodnight" and “Between the Sheets” and uptempo funk such as “Fight the Power”, "Live It Up", "The Pride", and "Showdown" and the list goes on and on. His arrangements and instrumentation as a classically-trained musician, and his expertise on the keyboards and synthesizers, have been called the foundation of the unique and legendary “Isley Brothers Sound” of the "3 + 3 era"
CHRIS JASPER, MARVIN ISLEY and ERNIE ISLEY subsequently formed the spin-off group ISLEY-JASPER-ISLEY (IJI) and CHRIS penned and sang lead vocals on the #1 R&B hit "Caravan of Love", a song that was covered by English recording group, the Housemartins, and became an international #1 pop hit.
"Brother to Brother" is another notable track written and sung by CHRIS JASPER during the IJI years in support of the anti-apartheid struggle at that time, which was recently heard around the world in a tribute to the great NELSON MANDELA following his recent passing. http://youtu.be/1X2eGf_4qBY
CHRIS JASPER continues to bring his "unique sound" to his own solo projects, releasing 10 solo albums for his independent record label GOLD CITY RECORDS. His recently released CD, "Inspired...By Love, By Life, By the Spirit" has received critical acclaim. The single "Any Day" was nominated for "Song of the Year" by Soultracks.com, having been one of the most "liked" songs in Soultracks "first listen" feature. http://youtu.be/_Imx6V04ESc

The Perlan Project Story
From 1992-98, Perlan’s founder and NASA test pilot Einar Enevoldson collected evidence on a weather phenomenon that no one at the time even knew existed: stratospheric mountain waves. Like huge ocean waves, these waves of air are kicked off by strong winds blowing over the tops of high mountain ranges like the Andes. These waves of air then shoot straight up towards space. As a pilot, Einar quickly figured out that you can use a glider to ride those waves all the way up to near space. And he set out to prove it. This became The Perlan Project.
In 1998 meteorologist Dr. Elizabeth Austin teamed up with Einar and expanded upon his findings proving that it is the stratospheric polar night jet and the polar vortex that are factors in sustaining these mountain waves allowing them to reach up to 130,000 feet into the middle stratosphere.
In 1999 Steve Fossett, the record-setting aviator, sailor, adventurer and first person to fly solo non-stop around the world in a balloon, heard about it and decided to fund The Project and become one of its pilots.
On August 30, 2006 Steve Fossett and Einar Enevoldson smashed the existing altitude record for gliders by soaring up to 50,671 feet (15,460m) in a standard glider using these stratospheric waves of air.
And they could have gone even higher!
The problem was that their pressure suits expanded so much inside the cabin that they couldn’t move the flight controls and safely control the aircraft anymore. So they came down, and quickly decided they needed a custom glider with a pressurized cabin.
. . . . . Perlan Mission II was born.
For more information, to schedule an interview with any of the pilots or if you require images, please contact Perlan Project at info@perlanproject.org
The Professional Association of Résumé Writers and Career Coaches has confirmed Joel Quass as a Certified Professional Résumé Writer.
Saint Petersburg, FL, December 14, 2013: Joel Quass recently passed the four-part Professional Résumé Writer Certification program administered by PARW/CC. http://parw.com/home.html Using this training, Joel crafts action producing résumés using his Six-Second Résumé™ program.
Most job seekers think recruiters spend 4 to 5 minutes reviewing a résumé. The truth: recruiters spend about 6 seconds before they make the initial “fit/no fit” decision. That means prioritizing information is essential. Joel’s Six-Second Résumé Method™ focuses key information so a recruiter sees it first, increasing the chances for further review. In fact, the results of a study published by The Ladders® revealed that recruiters were able to easily find and focus on the important information they were looking for in a professional résumé much faster than regular résumés or an online profile.
Certified Professional Resume Writers (CPRW) are the career industry's leading experts in the development of strategic résumés. The purpose of the résumé is to secure a personal interview from among the dozens or hundreds of applicants for a given position. Since 1991, CPRWs have demonstrated their knowledge, talent and writing expertise in meeting the industry standard of excellence and in serving the client's career interests.
In 2012, Joel was awarded the industry’s Certified Employment Interview Professional certification (CEIP). Combined with his 35 years in management, and having read thousands of résumés, Joel uses this training to teach job seekers interviewing strategies and proven ways to organize their job search. With his new certification, he offers professionally written résumés and custom Linkedin profiles.
A wacky compilation of tech cartoons about people and their off-centre relationships with computers, the internet, smart phones, social networks, MP3 players, gaming consoles, e-book readers, GPS systems and other amazing technologies, all inspired by real life events.
Praise for the book:
‘To sense how subtly sacrilegious these cartoons are, you must imagine an India where parents consider getting a programming job in the US a prospect somewhat superior to finding 72 virgins when you go to heaven. (It's a different matter that those 72 are likely to be programmers from Bangalore.)’ – Mahesh Murthy, Founder, Pinstorm, and Managing Partner, Seedfund, Angel Investor on Super Angels, ET Now
‘Beautifully drawn and slyly witty, It's Geek 2 Me tech toons seem to be peopled with characters born of a liaison between a middle-aged Dilbert and a hot South-Asian techie. Read one a day to keep all viruses away!’ – Anuja Chauhan, screenwriter and bestselling author of The Zoya Factor and Those Pricey Thakur Girls
About the author:
Francis Cleetus started fiddling with computers at an early age. Years later, he started writing about them as a staff reporter for Dataquest magazine. Along the way, he switched to writing ads at ad agencies in India, Hong Kong and the US. While he worked on ads, he doodled on the side, especially during long meetings.
Francis lives with his wife and two daughters in Pittsburgh, USA, and works out of his basement studio. He has created hundreds of tech toons for the Pittsburgh Tech Council's TEQ magazine, geek-2-me.com and other publications. He has also conceived award-winning ad campaigns for HP, Phillips, Nike, Maker's Mark and MTV. But he still hasn’t figured out what the F11 key on his laptop is all about.

During 2014, Mike Broemmel will be speaking at different conferences and conventions and will address topics that include his own experience with depression and suicide. Las Vegas— It was the dark days of the early 1940’s. The drums of war could be heard even in the distance, ever approaching. Many knew it was only a matter of time and the US was not ready. In many countries General Aviation was banned due to the needs of the war. Men who knew the US would need resources for home defense and a wanted to keep flying had an idea. From this the Civil Air Patrol was born 1 Dec 1941. Little did they know in one week they would be so desperately needed. From then until 31 August 1942 Civil Air Patrol coastal patrol contributed much to stopping the Axis submarine threat along the American Coast.
On 14 Dec 2013 Nevada Wing Civil Air Patrol honored one of the few original CAP Members and Sub chasers still with us. Vigil McCarron of Sun City Summerlin Las Vegas was honored with an Exceptional Service Award and promoted to Lieutenant Colonel. He was an aircraft mechanic and sometimes mission observer with Civil Air Patrol Coastal Patrol Base 12 in Brownsville Texas later moved to San Benito Texas. He served from the base opening till the close of the coastal patrol mission. After that he joined the Army Air Corps and was assigned as a B 26 mechanic.
After the war Virgil was a founding member of West Coast Airlines. He eventually retired in Las Vegas after a long distinguished career in aviation.
The award was presented by Col Tim Hahn CAP the Nevada wing commander. In attendance was Ms Dixie Hubbard his caregiver, Col Herman Bishop CAP Nellis Senior Squadron Standard and Evaluation officer and retired Kentucky Wing Commander, Lt Col Doris North CAP Nevada Wing Personnel Officer, Lt Col Harvey Irby CAP, Maj Carol Lynn CAP Nevada Wing Chief of Staff, Maj Thomas Cooper Commander Henderson Composite Squadron Commander and Capt Bill Edwards Nellis Senior Squadron Commander.
As a newly minted Lieutenant Colonel, Virgil is now considered part of the Nevada Wing Staff. We welcome into the Nevada Wing Civil Air Patrol and are very proud to have one of our founding members as part of our Wing, Nevada Wing, Every Day!
Civil Air Patrol, the official auxiliary of the U.S. Air Force, is a nonprofit organization with 61,000 members nationwide, operating a fleet of 550 aircraft. CAP, in its Air Force auxiliary role, performs 90 percent of continental U.S. inland search and rescue missions as tasked by the Air Force Rescue Coordination Center and is credited by the AFRCC with saving an average of 80 lives annually. Its unpaid professionals also perform homeland security, disaster relief and drug interdiction missions at the request of federal, state and local agencies. The members play a leading role in aerospace education and serve as mentors to more than 26,000 young people currently participating in the CAP cadet programs. CAP received the World Peace Prize in 2011 and has been performing missions for America for 72 years. CAP also participates in Wreaths Across America, an initiative to remember, honor and teach about the sacrifices of U.S. military veterans. In an excellent play for credibility and respect within a competitive UK market, Fire & Safety Management (UK) Ltd has been awarded accreditation from SafeContractor for its commitment to achieving excellence in health and safety. SafeContractor is a leading third- party accreditation scheme which recognises and awards business that practice high standards in health and safety management within their business. This strategic move will help this ambitious company on their quest to establish themselves on a larger national scene populated by industry heavyweights and businesses that have long held influence with major corporations and other industry giants.
This is the forth accreditation that Fire & Safety Management (UK) Ltd has achieved since the business became Ltd in 2007 along with "The British Fire Consortium", "The Fire Protection Association" and "The UK Fire Association". So with all these accreditations that have been awarded to them and with over 19 years of experience in the Fire Prevention Industry you will definitely be in safe hands should you appoint Fire & Safety Management (UK) Ltd for all your Fire Safety requirements.
With a staff of six, Fire & Safety Management (UK) Ltd is principally involved in fire safety, Fire Training & fire risk assessments, and they have successfully managed fire prevention techniques at a number of major music festivals over the last several years. The company’s application for SafeContractor accreditation was driven by the need for a uniform set of standards across their wide range of services and practices. SafeContractor accreditation will not only enhance the company’s ability to attract new contracts but also bolster its commitment to safety, a move that will be viewed positively by insurers responsible for their liability policy.
SafeContractor certification is integral within the majority of industry sectors, although it is particularly relevant to food manufacturing, property and facilities management, retail and leisure sectors, all of which are typically heavily reliant on contracted service providers.
Major organisations simply cannot afford to run the risk of employing contractors who are not able to prove that they have sound health and safety policies in place. Under the SafeContractor scheme, businesses undergo a vetting process which examines health and safety procedures and their track record for safe practice. Those companies meeting the high standards espoused by SafeContractor are included within a database, which is accessible to registered users via the website.
The large influence of SafeContractor certification can be seen in their visibility within UK industries. Over one hundred and seventy major nation-wide businesses from several key sectors have signed up to use the scheme when selecting contractors for services such as building, cleaning, maintenance, refurbishment or electrical and mechanical work.
Responding to questions about this recent accomplishment, Jonathan Paxton, Managing Director of Fire & Safety Management (UK) Ltd., stated, “Achieving this accreditation validates us as the leading fire safety management company in Brighton, surrounding areas and in fact the South East”.
This is a great way for Fire & Safety Management (UK) Ltd to see out 2013 and plans for big fire safety projects during 2014
Fire & Safety Management (UK) have worked with a number of clients in Brighton and surrounding areas, helping to ensure that their clients have optimised their infrastructure to promote ideal fire preventative services.
