Regarded as the leading figure responsible for China’s economic policy – which embraces innovation, sustainable redevelopment and renewable energy as core drivers – Premier Wen will deliver the keynote speech at WFES.
The visit by the Premier underscores the growing role the UAE and Abu Dhabi are playing in promoting innovation and investment opportunities in renewable energy and clean technologies.

Premier Wen has pledged that China will reduce the carbon intensity of its economy by 17 percent by 2015 (per unit GDP). Under its 12th Five Year Plan for National Economic and Social Development, China will generate 11.4 percent of energy from non-fossil fuels by 2015, and 15 percent by 2020, up from 8.3 per cent in 2010.
To reach this ambitious goal, China has introduced a range of regulatory and financial incentives, including feed-in tariffs, subsidies, China Development Bank loans, and $200 billion in stimulus funding for cleantech, carbon emission reductions and energy pricing reserves. China is poised to spend $473.1 billion on clean energy investments in the next five years and will add 370 GW of renewable energy generation capacity by 2020.
China is also making major investments in grid transmission to overcome capacity constraints and to allow energy rich regions to export power to energy poor regions of China. The five year plan also provides incentives for hybrid and electric vehicles, charging infrastructure and high speed rail.
Lastly, and much like Masdar City – Abu Dhabi’s low-carbon, low-waste sustainable city – China will build high-tech, green cities to test nascent clean and renewable energy technologies.

China and the UAE have a strong and growing relationship.
The UAE has expanded bilateral trade, strengthened two-way investment and increased cooperation on infrastructure construction and the development of renewable energy. Masdar Capital has already invested $25 million into UPCC, a major Chinese wind developer.

Leading Chinese business will also be participating at WFES.
In addition to Premier Wen’s visit, more than 43 Chinese exhibitors will be attending WFES 2012, and for the first time, host a national pavilion to highlight the country’s rapidly expanding renewable energy market.
Chief executives from two of China’s multinational firms in solar energy will also address conference delegates: Shi Zhengrong, CEO of the world’s largest solar panel maker Suntech Power; and Jifan Gao, Chairman and CEO of PV technology leader Trina Solar.
Now in its fifth year, WFES is the world’s foremost annual meeting committed to promoting advancement of renewable energy, energy efficiency, and the water and waste sectors by engaging political, business, finance, academic and industry leaders to drive innovation, business and investment opportunities in response to the growing need for sustainable energy.
More than 26,000 attendees, including 3,000 delegates, 650 exhibiting companies and 20 national pavilions, are expected to participate in the summit.

TWC agreed to pay original MSG asking price; MSG reneged
NEW YORK--()--Time Warner Cable today reiterated its pledge to not take MSG off the air through the NHL and NBA seasons.
“You have our commitment to work hard to reach an agreement that will assure our customers continued access to MSG's teams for years to come.”
"We will not remove MSG/MSG+ from our New York cable systems,” said Mike Angus, Senior Vice President, Content Acquisition for Time Warner Cable. “That ball is in MSG’s court, so these channels will come off only if MSG pulls the plug."
"Time Warner Cable and our customers have stood by MSG and its teams through thick and thin,” Angus continued. "Our customers have paid whether the teams won or lost; they deserve better."
“While we continue to work through this issue, we are offering to continue carrying MSG/MSG+ at a 6.5% increase through the end of the 2011-2012 NBA and NHL seasons," Angus wrote in a letter to MSG Media President Michael Bair. "You have our commitment to work hard to reach an agreement that will assure our customers continued access to MSG's teams for years to come."
After pulling their original ask for a 6.5% increase in fees off the table, today MSG is demanding a 53% increase in fees over what Time Warner Cable paid in 2011.
"Programming costs are skyrocketing, and we work very hard to negotiate lower fee increases to keep our customers’ bills as reasonable as possible. 53% is not reasonable in anybody’s book – I doubt many of our customers got a 53% raise this year," Angus said.
MSG is demanding carriage of Fuse as a condition to Time Warner Cable's distribution of MSG/MSG+, at a cost of millions of dollars. "Fuse is watched by fewer than one-tenth of one percent of the customers who have it available – that’s just 4,000 customers out of more than 7.4 million. Asking our customers to pay millions for a channel they clearly don’t want and don’t value is nothing more than a tax on New York sports fans.
“We’re hopeful that MSG will put fans first and do the right thing for their viewers and our customers,” Angus added. “We’re willing to pay a reasonable increase and we’re willing to keep the channels on while we negotiate. We are hopeful that we’ll be able to reach agreement without putting New York sports fans in the middle of this dispute. We think these customers deserve better.”

Despite our unsuccessful attempts to date, Time Warner Cable continues to believe that a renewal for MSG/MSG+ is easily achievable.
In March of this year and again over the summer, MSG offered to renew MSG/MSG+ for three years at 6.5% annual increases. As we had indicated before, we remain ready and willing to enter into a long term agreement at those prices. The only obstacle that prevented us from reaching agreement on those terms was MSG's insistence that Time Warner Cable carry and pay millions of dollars for Fuse music network, even though we made it clear that the Fuse network had scant viewership and little value to our customers. We are happy to discuss the future of Fuse separately, but right now our customers and your viewers deserve our undivided attention on resolving the future of MSG/MSG+. While we continue to work through this issue, we are offering to continue carrying MSG/MSG+ at a 6.5% increase through the end of the 2011-2012 NBA and NHL seasons.
To be clear, Time Warner Cable has never threatened to, and will not, remove MSG/MSG+ from our lineups. That decision rests squarely with MSG – the channels will only come off Time Warner Cable systems if MSG takes them away. We ask that MSG not punish the same New York sports fans who have stood by MSG and all of its teams through thick and thin. These fans have paid the tab during the difficult years, and now, just when things are getting good for the Knicks, the very same fans are faced with going from lockout to blackout. Our customers have paid whether the teams won or lost; they deserve better.
In that spirit, I am hopeful that you will accept this offer to extend without punishing sports fans across the region. You have our commitment to work hard to reach an agreement that will assure our customers continued access to MSG's teams for years to come.

Der Besuch des Ministerpräsidenten unterstreicht, dass die VAE und Abu Dhabi eine immer wichtigere Funktion bei der Förderung von Innovation und Investitionsmöglichkeiten in erneuerbare Energien und saubere Technologien einnehmen.

Premier Wen hat zugesichert, dass China die Kohlenstoffintensität seiner Wirtschaft bis 2015 um 17 Prozent (pro Einheit BIP) reduzieren will. Seinem 12. Fünfjahresplan für die Nationale Wirtschafts- und Sozialentwicklung zufolge wird China bis 2015 11,4 Prozent und bis 2020 15 Prozent der Energie aus nicht-fossilen Brennstoffen erzeugen, ausgehend von 8,3 Prozent im Jahr 2010.
Um dieses ehrgeizige Ziel zu erreichen, hat China eine Reihe von regulatorischen und finanziellen Anreizen geschaffen, darunter Einspeisetarife, Subventionen, Darlehen von der China Development Bank und 200 Milliarden US-Dollar zur Konjunkturbelebung für saubere Technologien, die Reduzierung von Kohlenstoffemissionen und als Reserve für den Energiepreisanstieg. China wird während der nächsten fünf Jahre voraussichtlich 473,1 Milliarden US-Dollar in saubere Energien investieren und bis 2020 zusätzlich 370 GW an Erzeugungskapazitäten für erneuerbare Energien bereitstellen.
China investiert in großem Maßstab in Stromnetze, um Kapazitätsbeschränkungen in den Griff zu bekommen und energiereichen Regionen den Energieexport in energieärmere chinesische Gebiete zu ermöglichen. Der Fünfjahresplan sieht außerdem Anreize für Hybrid- und Elektrofahrzeuge, zur Schaffung einer Infrastruktur zum Aufladen der Fahrzeuge sowie für Hochgeschwindigkeitszüge vor.
Und schließlich wird China Hightech-Städte bauen – fast wie Masdar City, Abu Dhabis kohlenstoff- und abfallarme nachhaltige Stadt – um in der Entwicklung befindliche Technologien für saubere und erneuerbare Energien zu testen.

China und die VAE haben eine starke und im Wachstum befindliche Beziehung.
Die VAE haben den bilateralen Handel erweitert, Zwei-Wege-Investitionen verstärkt und die Zusammenarbeit beim Aufbau von Infrastrukturen und der Entwicklung erneuerbarer Energien intensiviert. Masdar Capital hat 25 Millionen US-Dollar in UPCC investiert, einen bedeutenden chinesischen Entwickler von Windenergie.

A visita do premier acentua o crescente papel que os Emirados Árabes Unidos e Abu Dhabi estão representando para promover as oportunidades de inovação e investimento em tecnologia limpa e de energia renovável.

De acordo com o seu décimo segundo Plano de cinco anos para o desenvolvimento social e econômico nacional, a China vai gerar 11,4% de energia de combustíveis não fósseis até 2015, e 15% até 2020, acima dos 8,3% de 2010.
Para atender a esta meta ambiciosa, a China introduziu um conjunto de incentivos regulatórios e financeiros, incluindo taxa de compensação, subsídios, empréstimos do Banco de Desenvolvimento da China e US$200 bilhões em financiamento de estímulo para tecnologia limpa, reduções da emissão de carbono e reservas de preços de energia. ラトガース大学、ノースウェスタン大学、ユタ大学も創立会員としてIPXIに参加します。大学の創立会員として、これらの大学はIPXI規則委員会に任命される権利を有し、当取引所でULRコントラクトのスポンサーとなることを確約しています。
企業、大学、民間・国立研究所が参加できる創立会員制度は、2012年を目標としている取引の開始まで、利用可能です。
フランス預金供託公庫の知的財産部門が正会員として当取引所に参加します。正会員制度は、当取引所でULRコントラクトのスポンサリングまたは購入を希望する企業、大学、民間・国立研究所が参加できます。正会員制度ではULRコントラクトを発行する確約は必要ありません。
もう1つの会員クラスとして準会員があります。ULRコントラクトの直接的なスポンサリングや購入を行わない法律事務所、IP顧問会社、評価会社、先行技術調査会社、IP仲介業者、他のIPサービス提供業者がIPXIの準会員になることができます。これにより、委員会構成を通してIPXIの統治に参加する資格が得られます。
